Benefits of Meditation. Though the ancient practice of meditation and its techniques are widely adapted in the east and in the Hindu and Buddhist religions, meditation is only now reaching more wide acceptance in the west. An effective stress reducer, meditation offers powerful benefits that can be felt immediately to help you lead a more fulfilled and balanced life. [Top]
Types of Meditation
- Transcendental Meditation. In this classic meditation style, a mantra or word that represents a goal you strive to attain is repeated over and over again as a positive affirmation. The most commonly known mantra is “OM,” but a mantra can be any word or goal you wish to attain.
- Guided Meditation. Guided imagery is one of the best introductions to meditation forms and techniques. In a guided meditation, an instructor talks you through a peaceful scene of your choosing. It is recommended that you return to an image or place that you’ve already experienced in order to create the most vivid and engaging scene possible.
- Mindfulness Meditation. The techniques involved in mindfulness meditation are particularly effective for eliminating the negative emotions of anxiety, stress and depression. The process of mindful meditation involves focusing deeply on the present moment and all that your body is feeling without going into analysis or self-criticism and just to let thoughts and feelings float by while being completely in the moment. peace. it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
