Yoga and Pilates Information
Q. How early should I arrive to class before scheduled start time?
A. We recommend students arrive 10 minutes before class begins to allow time to sign in and take a few moments of restful relaxation to yourself, that way you can begin class in the proper mindset.
Q. Can I still attend class after it’s already started?
A. If you’re running a few minutes late, enter as quietly as possible. Please do not enter a class more than 15 minutes after it has already begun.
Q. Do I need to bring my own mat for yoga class?
A. Yes, you will need to bring your own yoga mat. We provide mats only to first-time students, after that a fee will be charged.
Q. Do you have blankets, blocks and props to use during class?
A. Yes, we provide all the props and yoga equipment basic to the practice of yoga including blocks, belts, blankets and bolsters.
Q. Can I bring my cell phone?
A. No cell phones or electronic devices are permitted in class. Please be courteous and refrain from bringing them into class. Vibrate mode is also not permitted.
What is OM?
Om (Aum) is a vibration. Although it is not a religious sound or word, many religions incorporate some form of this vibration into their prayers. "Shalom" is the best example. Aum is usually chanted at either the beginning or the end of a Yoga class to establish that the time spent in sadhana (spiritual practice) is different than other parts of your day. When we chant Aum, we are chanting at the exact same frequency that the Earth is vibrating. This is Aum. This vibrational frequency is measured by NASA and is well documented.
Aum has no meaning and all meanings encompassed in it's sound.
We encourage all students who feel comfortable to participate in the chanting of Aum.
